Monday 27 April – Series 2 Race 4
We had a lovely sunny morning and a good turnout on 23 boats but but it took a while for the breeze to arrive and decide on its direction. After a 40 minute delay we set a 2 lap course to the South and gradually moved the start line as the breeze swung to the South-East. The breeze build up during the morning to a pleasant 5-8mph.
We had a dead heat in Race 1 between Ray Hursel (657) and Chris Flewitt (182). Unfortunately, Andy Smith (37) had to leave early after Race 6 having just scored wins in Race 4 and Race 6.
It looks the annual jelly fish have arrived in the South Lake. A couple of us caught one during racing, but not a real problem at the moment.
Our winner today was Paul Heaney (422) with 2 wins and 2 seconds. Second was Jamie Wilson (752) also with 2 wins. Just a point behind in third was Ian Proctor (823) with a win and 2 seconds. And just a further point behind in fourth was Chris Durant (91) with a win and a second.
Fifth was Phil Hampson (506) with a win in Race 1 and a point behind was Adrian Wallis (81) with a second in Race 9 (sorry I piped you on the line).
