DF 65 Monday 6 March – Series 2 Race 3
We were expecting a Westerly breeze of 8 – 12 knots, but it soon picked up to over 10 knots with gust of 15-20 knots. It also swung slightly to the South West as the races progressed.
Except for Chris Foreman (161), who started on an A rig, we all stuck to our A+ rigs as they are fairly versatile. Several gusts spun us around downwind, but we all seemed to manage reasonable well upwind.
Adrian Wallis (81) and Martyn Clark (793) showed us how to handle the conditions today winning 6 of the 8 races between them. Adrian was our overall winner with 3 wins and 3 seconds with Martyn second with 3 wins and 2 seconds.
There was less than a point between the next three places with Paul Heaney (422) third, Ian Proctor (823) fourth and Alan Nash (56) with win in Race 1 fifth.
Chris Foreman won Race 7 using his A rig.
