DF65 Class Captain Farwell
Thank you so much for the wonderful send off yesterday and the generous DF65 carry bag from the fleet. I was a little overwhelmed at how many DF65 sailors (I think I counted 31 boats) attended and gave me personal farewells.
For those who don’t know, I’m returning to Australia very soon.
I felt very proud to see so many DF65s lined up on bank of the lake for the group photo. Every sailor there has a story to tell about why they joined and have stayed with the GMYBC DF65 fleet. Its not all about racing for some of our sailors who prefer the quieter Wednesday evening sessions.
It has been a lot of work being DF65 Class Captain but the rewards are worth it. This is probably my last post as Admin of ‘DF65’s at Gosport’ but I’m sure Adrian and Richard will continue to develop the class.
