Russell Wyeth won the coveted Wing and Wing trophy for winning the highest number of runs during the five days of the championship and came 6th overall. Shaun Wyeth was 4th overall and came second in the highest number of beats. He was, however, beaten by his youngest son, Thomas, a junior skipper, in the runs, as he came 6th and Shaun ‘only’ 9th!!!!!!
Lewis Wyeth came 8th equal overall and 6th in the beats.
All our Gosport competitors came in the first half of what was a very hot fleet.
Sadly, Peter Fothergill was not fit enough to go, as he was recovering from Covid. However, a big ‘shout out’ and well done to his mate, Paul Edwards who went anyway and mated Shaun to fourth place and went over and above, by assisting other skippers as well. Brilliant!
The Yachting Monthly Cup was won by Chris Harris and mate Martin Dovey. There are reports on the Fleetwood website.
